Just starting my journey.

Hello! I'm new to the boards, but I have lurked around some for a while. My best friend, and two cousins( one of which is my primary care physician) have had gastric sleeve surgery, and after over a year of deciding, I finally made the call to the bariatric surgeon and began the process of changing and bettering my life for me and my family. They are sending me all the paperwork to fill out and send back to schedule my appointment. I must admit that making the call was very emotional. After I hung up the phone the tears just came.

I'm so happy to have found an online community to further educate myself and to find others who are going through what I will be going through!

Thank you! I just dropped my paperwork in the mail yesterday! I am both terrified and excited! I've never had any surgeries so this is completely new to me. I'm just hoping that the doctors get back to me quickly and I can make the appointment as soon as possible to see what all I need to show, and what all I need to have done.

Congrats! Its a process and it gets very back and fourth with waiting for this and doing this test. But it comes faster than you think. I am 2 weeks away from surgery which is my first major anything I've never even had a cavity I cried when I thought I had a cavity so I am trying not to freak out but I just keep reminding myself it will be worth I.

Congrats on taking this big step to a better you!! This place helps a lot and u get great support when u need it the most!! Good luck!!
