Man, the first two weeks after surgery, well more like the second week after surgery, I gave up on just the fluids, and I was able to eat pretty much like I was before surgery. I was mad as hell, I was like what did I do this surgery for, if I can still eat? And now you're telling me I gotta wait another 5 weeks for a fill? I called my doc and pleaded with them, and convinced them to fill me after only 4 weeks of surgery. After that, I was happier, but felt like I can still eat too much, so I went for another one 2 weeks later.

It's been 1 and a half weeks since that fill, and I've lose 30 lbs out of 100 lbs I need to lose, however I'm not satisfied yet. I want another fill. I feel like I can still eat too much.

So in short, no I don't agree with you at all, sorry! I feel like if I did the surgery already, fill me to the max, let me shed my fat suit ASAP!

The time to be worrying about whether or not a fill is needed is not while you are losing weight and not hungry all the time.

Don't worry about fills until you feel like you need one. There is no value in deciding you are going to tough it out. If you could do that you wouldn't have needed a band to begin with.

According to Dr. Ortiz (in his book) he claims that 70% of banded folks don't need a fill until six months. That doesn't seem accurate according to posts here but perhaps he is correct.

I am eating so little now that I do not plan on getting a fill any time soon. I think if the scale stops moving or I find that me and my band are unable to control my portions....I will get one! Right now I am happy with the restriction that the band has given me. I also read on here and am realizing that "hunger is not an emergency"! I can usually wait it out a little and drink some Water to control it.

I am one of the folks that have no intention of getting a fill, I've already declined one. I think that having more of a fill will just force me to not eat more food - right now I can eat it but I feel full after about 800 or so calories. I don't want to do this quick, if I wanted that I would have gone for GBP. Until I'm eating over 1300 calories and still constantly hungry - no fill. Even then, I will try hard not to get one.

My goal is to lose this weight like I gained - slow and steady! But that's just my $0.02.

I'm supposed to get one next week but I'm not going to. I can't imagine ever wanting one but I'm not opposed to getting one. I have really good restriction right now without it. I guess it's like after you have a huge meal you can't imagine ever wanting to eat again, but then an hour later you do. Well, I can't imagine ever wanting a fill but if I'm eating too much or too hungry then I will.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
