do the stitches disolve, or do they have to be removed? If so, when?

Usually the use absorable sutures, are your sutures under the skin or are they individual blue or black stiches??? If it is under the skin and you cant see it, then they are the absorable type, however, if they are black or blue and you can see them, they need to be removed...
