Banded 6 weeks ago

Hi all. I was banded 6 weeks ago. I've lost 20 lbs but still have 55 to go. I've been using myfitnesspal and fitBit as some tools and so far it's been good. Only thing I hate is the excessive gas I always have.

I've received a lot of judgement from friends about getting the band since I was 215 lbs starting... But they can F off. I don't judge them for the drastic decisions they make so they should support me. Pisses me off. Really just gives me more fuel to lose weight and show them that they are wrong.

Anyway looking to reach out for support since I'm obviously not getting it through my friends. My family has been very supportive though.

Hello @Leoakie86. I feel you. I just submitted all my info to my insurance co. today and hopefully I get approved. I weigh 233 lbs but my friends say I'm not big enough for surgery. They don't realize that just because I look happy I feel tired all the time and my bones hurt. I'm only 31 and I shouldn't feel so crappy. My father and pretty much every male figure in my family has diabetes and that's not what I want for myself. Reading your post helps me to see and know that I'm not alone. :)

Thank you guys. I am on vacation this week and really trying to stay on track. Goal is to hit at least 10k steps a day and possibly workout if I can.

Yesterday I got 10k steps in and did a spin class and today just went on a 3.25 mile walk on the beach. So far so good. Just kinda weird to not be able to eat whatever I want on vacation but it is a good thing because obviously I have issues stopping. Eating healthy was never the issue it was just the quantity of food.

Looking forward to all the support on here. Seems like a great place to reach out so glad I found it!
