Maestra,

I was banded on Monday as well and have been in a great deal of pain. I don't have any shoulder pain, but I am experiencing excrutiating pain around my left rib cage, about 3 inches below the port. It gets worse at night, better as I start walking and moving in the morning, so I am hoping that it is just gas...I never knew gas could hurt this bad. (It really feels like a broken rib) Hang in there, I understand that 72 hours out is the roughest as the body has reached its maximun in swelling, thus causing more pressure on nerves and such.

tanderson is right, the reason it feels like that is because it is referred pain, it is because of your nerves...kind of like how amputees feel the phantom limb.
