Did YOU Start Solids Early???

On the May 4th update, many of us "Confessed" that we started solids early and I said that I was going to do a poll. So here it is - of course you can remain totally anonymous or talk about why you did or didn't start early.

I started early because

a) I was climbing the walls

:) I really needed to get my digestive system working

c) I felt that I was able to handle them

I must confess that I started solids early, too. I have had no pain or problems with most foods (haven't tried bread and have no plans to). I think everyone's body heals differently and yes, we should all follow the doctor's advice to the letter, but sometimes the advice is too broad. I'll deal with the consequences (if there are any) and take responsibility. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to my first full next Monday as I have been hungry. I wasn't hungry after the surgery for about 3-4 weeks, but come week 5, forget it, I was really hungry and gave in.

Peaches if you really need to cheat make it something that goes down easy like pudding or crackers in your soup. Remember you still need to heal inside.

Hi Susan

I too became extremely constipated recently and had excruciating pain, chills and felt like hit by a truck. Only thing that helped was a saline solution fleet enemas two nights in a row and making sure I eat more fibre and I take a high quality magnesium supplement that acts as a stool softener.
