Preop diet is harder the second time around

A month ago, I did a strict, unnecessary, pre-op diet to qualify for surgery. Once I got my surgery date of 2/25, I've eased off the strict diet and have managed to gain 7 pounds. Today I'm actually starting the real 2 week preop diet and it is MUCH harder the second time around. It's noon Im already sick from not eating. I def should not have gone off the strict diet I was on. My next weighin is 7 days from now. There is no room for cheating or slacking. My head hurts! How did I ever do this the first time?!? And why is this time so much harder?!? (Sorry needed to vent).

Keep your chin up and hang in there. Drink lots of Water. Time it so that there will not be more than a few hours before meals. I did Protein shakes for Breakfast lunch and dinner and greek yogurt for Snacks. Not the most exciting but after the first day I wasn't hungry. You can do this!
