I´m new here and on my way to getting a gastric sleeve, maybe in about 4 months, hopefully.
I´m 5 feet 6 inches tall and weigh 316 lbs.

I have hypothyroidism (?) and diabetes type 2.

What is a realistic goalweight for me?
I´m looking forward to this adventure and I´m dreaming away looking at clothes that maybe will fit me some day..
What do you is realistic there aswell, what clothessize do you think I can wear after my weightreduction?

I have to wait until june-august or longer, we´ll see.
I live in Sweden and next step is to go to a information meeting and then wait for an appointment to a surgeon 1-2 months to get cleared and then there is maybe 2 months to surgery after that!
They don´t do this kind of surgeries in the summer when there is less staff

It should be submitted to insurance tomorrow. I met all insurance requirements as of Saturday morning with the psych. I will be calling them to make sure they submit it. It is supposed to be approved within 5 days, and surgery is generally scheduled 2 to 3 weeks after approval. So very soon.

I am 5'8 and started at 316. Sleeved in June and down 101 lbs. I want to lose about 35 more. If i was your height, I would say shoot for a final goal of 160 or 170. That may still have you in what they call the obese range, but who cares. You should always start with smaller goals. Your first 50, then 100, then to your final goal. And don't beat yourself up when you plateau, which you will! Fight through it and keep going.
