Hi everyone hope all is well and happy new year. I went to an band center to see abouts getting surgery (gastric sleeve). I've had a few nutritional visits and a sleep test and I will have an endoscopy procedure this coming Friday 1/9/15. How long is the approval process and also what steps did you have to take to get it approved? I'm 5'2 207lbs

It took me 8 months total. Sounds like some of your requirements are similar to mine. I had to have a 6 month supervised diet by my Primary Physician (with reports sent to an insurance case manager), a sleep study for my sleep apenea, a psychological evaluation, an endoscopy, 2 nutritionist appointments, 2 surgeon appointments, and 3 sets of lab work. It's a lot but it is worth it in the end... don't give up! I honestly think the insurance companies try to purposely make it difficult so some people will drop out. Just my own thought.
