Suggestion for Dehydration

I am 10 days post op. I am getting my Protein in and able to even do some pureed Soups. Hydration is another story, I am getting moderately dehydrated and clearly not getting enough Water intake. Any suggestions out there? I had a friend recommend Pedialyte Advance Care. Anyone have any experience with that? It has some sugar but also a balance of electrolytes and potassium. It is suppose to help prevent this even though it is usually for babies. I am just not getting enough from the water I am drinking. This is turning out to be the hardest part to do.

  • I couldn't tolerate plain water or artificial sweeteners for the first 4 months...they hurt my sleeve. I drank pedialyte, diluted sports drinks, diluted 100% fruit juice, milk and decaf herbal teas.

  • Pedialyte won't hydrate you any more than water. Just drink more water. Chances are if you are drinking shakes and eating soups you aren't getting dehydrated.

@bittersweet No I am not shivering and I don't have a fever. I am calling this carb death . I'm not sure if that's an accurate assumption. Before surgery I was eating normal food and burning that

Have you tried Isopure water from GNC. 40 grams of protein in 20 ounces of water. I am up to two bottles day and I'm 2 weeks out. You could use that with the power aid zero and hopefully you will be feeling better. I also found that any broth with sodium really made me feel better. Feel better soon.
