Vegan protein!

Recommended Posts

I'm not actually vegan, but have found that after surgery I am lactose intolerant. This makes it very hard to get my Protein in while in liquid diet stage!

I need some help! My doctor has extended my liquid diet for a couple more weeks because of other complications. But I am not getting any protein in because I can't keep down any dairy products!

Also, so far the only things I can keep down are frozen/very cold liquids.

Any suggestions? I have tried Soup, and other warm drinks with vegan Protein powder, because of the temp, it won't stay down. And the frozen things won't desolve the Protein Powder. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Dylan

Hummus? I ate a lot of that at first.

You could try liquid Protein instead of the powders and shakes. Liquid Protein mixes well hot or cold. I used Prosource unflavored but others like the GENEPRO and unjury unflavored Proteins.

Where did you find the pro source liquid Protein?

I found one called New whey it's hard to get down because it's kind if thick but my nutritionist told me to mix it with my Water. One tube of that is 42g. I haven't tried that yet but I might try it tomorrow and post a little review.

There are a few places to get it online. Here's a link to the unflavored variety. I was given the Prosource no carb in the orange creme flavor in the hospital. They gave me a few packs to take home. I would mix it with 6 ounces of herbal tea. It is very viscous, but mixes well in teas and Soups.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
