Started purée diet today. Help!

Okay so today is week 3 from my surgery so I am able to start puréed foods. One of the things on my list was a scrambled egg, so I was so excited to make one for breakfast this morning. I cut it up really small, and chewed really good before I swallowed it, but after 2 bites my chest started hurting and I don't feel very well. :( is this normal? Any advice? Thanks!

  • @@alyssadietrch Add a tiny bit of milk to your eggs when you scrabble them (I use almond milk)...that will make them "Softer".

  • I sometimes do a half a tsp of plain greek yogurt.

  • I was so excited when I finally made it to this phase! One of my favorite, go to meals during that phase and one that I actually still use is a ricotta bake. Soooo yummy and so simple! http://recip

Just read my post from last night and saw it changed u n j u r y to medical quality protein and made it a link. I see that they're the same and have seen lots of people post about it. Is that a sponsor or something for this site?

@@lily0327, yes. That word / company name is hyperlinked and permalinked on this site. My guess is that they pay to advertise here.

Thanks everyone for those yummy ideas! Can't wait for next week to try some out! Has anyone used unflavored protein powder mixed in with purées? I saw a brand Unjury makes a kind I guess you can add. Any thoughts on that?

I have used Genepro. It's flavorless (for the most part) and dissolves in most things pretty quickly. A tablespoon contains 30g of protein. I have put it in my coffee, milk, yogurt, ricotta bake and even egg salads. I prefer this one to u n j u r y. I bought mine on Amazon after discovering it on the forums here.

You could also try Water poaching the egg (just google it). Pretty easy to do and much softer than scrambled. In fact on my plan I can have poached during the pureed phase and not scrambled till 12 days later.

Made my first poached egg this morning...was able to eat about 2/3 of it...lol My pooches are going to love my sleeve!

Good luck!
