Day 2 of liquid diet

Day 2 was a little harder than day 1. I imagine the next few days will be as well. Everyone keeps telling me after 3 or 4 days it's easier. Let's pray that is so:) I have a great bander buddy I met here that is a few days ahead of me in her journey so she gives me advice:) We both are so excited. Come on Dec. 12th. I'm so ready to find my happy :)

  • Amen to that chick! It's nice to have outside support but from a co-bander So glad our surgery's are so close. Glad to have found this site and found a friend

Yeah ... days 2 - 4 sucked. But day 5 was MUCH better. Take everything one day at a time. Also, most (if not all) of us have had moments of "CRAP!! What did I DO to myself" moments. I just went though almost a MONTH of that, but am fine now. Remember .. if your surgeon is skeptical about a fill, then listen to him / her. Mine was skeptical, I still wanted it, so he gave me a half-fill. I should have listened. I spent a month only being able to eat certain mushies and soups. Last night was the first time since my November fill that I was able to eat solids without it getting stuck two bites in.

I did okay for about 1 week but on day 7 I was chomping at the bits for food.

I'm now following this thread as I am at the end of day ONE of fluids and am feeling the sense of 'lack' that comes with knowing there will be no "dinner" with the family tonight. Nice to know there are others out there going through the same part of the process.

We owe it to ourselves to get this done right so our surgeries can be as smooth and complication free as possible, right? Yesssssssss! (Insert chubby cheerleader-like pom-pom flourish).

One day at a time. Just think - short term pain for long term... loss!

Thanks for the advice and yes it IS nice to be able to talk with or at least read the updates from someone who is going through what you are. I just had my third meal replacement shake for the day. If I think about the fact all I am going to consume for 10 days (and 5 days after surgery) is the protein shakes, I get a little discouraged. I try to keep myself busy and take it one day at a time. This is my day 3 and I had a few hunger pains but did not give in. I want this more than anything I have ever wanted for myself. I will not do anything to lose this wonderful blessing. It's not like we won't ever eat again right? Love hearing from y'all.. Have a great night! ;)

As you know I just finished day 11. Lol thank the lord I'm close! I honestly am so happy I met you on here and we can relate!!! It makes it easier. Cuz I can count. On your words of encouragement (:

Hi guys, I just became active here because my surgery is next week--the 11th--and I am on day 4 of the pre op. I finally decided to start focusing on what is about to happen! Let's stick together!
