December 4th!

I'm so excited I finally have a surgery date ....December 4!!!!

My surgeon was kind enough to schedule my surgery prior to insurance approval because of my difficult work schedule, however now I am waiting for my insurance.... Hoping I get approved! How long do insurance companies usually take for approval?

They all seem to differ in the approval times. I've seen some people here approved in a couple days and others take quite a bit more. Mine only took a week thankfully with Aetna. It seems like there is also a difference with dr's programs and how well they document the requirements your insurance company needs.

I would recommend calling your insurance company to verify they received the request and ask them directly. It will give you peace of mind if nothing else. Waiting and wondering can be very hard, at least for me!

Which insurance company do you have?

Yeah. I have BCBS and mine was less than a week. My wife's was around 10 days. In both cases I reached out and spoke with the case manager. I thought it helped checking in on the approval and just seeing if they had the paperwork. Good luck
