Depression after surgery?!

Hi all,

I was banded on April 30, 2007. It has been about 10 days and I am starting to feel depressed. About what? Im not quite sure, but I am crying easily, restless, wanting to do something, but I am not quite sure what yet.

I know it sounds crazy, but I almost feel lost. Lost with what to do with myself.

Anyone else experience this after surgery? I would sure like to know that I am not alone.:help:

Jennifur,

You said the exact reason that I didnt tell any of my friends...I didnt want them to think of me as different. This mothers day we went to BBQ at inlaws and I sat at the kids table to keep everyone from noticing what I was eating...all of the sister in laws are over weight and we have all been on diets together..and it never works...its like a sabotage thing going on...someone did mention me losing weight...I just said, yeah I have a little...and changed the subject....I am no longer gonna be the biggest fattest sister in law...and I KNOW that noone is gonna like it...thats why I am keeping it to myself....I dont want people to treat me different...Yeah, maybe you are acting different, but so what, you just went through a major surgery, lost your BEST friend(food) and they want you to be happy and upbeat all the time...well, its NOT gonna happen...you are on a new journey to a new life...not that you cant keep your same friends, but they need to not be selfish and to learn to love the new you...Just me 2 cents....seems like I am ALWAYS giving it too...LOL...Deanna..

p.s. Good luck and keep your chin up...looks like we are the same age...
