Well, darn it all

I will have been banded for 1 year on May 11, and I have only lost a little over 40 pounds. Of course, I only weighed 220 when I went so I weigh around 180 now. I hit a plateau several months ago and still haven't broken through. But I have to say I'm happy with the 40 pounds though it's pretty expensive. I figure each pound cost about $300. Luckily, I can afford it. Not all of us lose a huge amount of weight and that's something we should say. My friend had a horrible fill doc who overfilled her band to the point that it was about to burst. Finally she found a doc who discovered this. She's afraid to have the band inflated again and has gained 15 pounds. So her total loss is about 20 pounds. I think she'll get up her nerve eventually and have the band filled to a reasonable amount by a good doc. Mine is at 4.5 cc which is good for me at the moment though I may get 5 ccs this summer and see how that works. Our doc, Dr. Rodriguez, said our bands should never be filled beyond about 7.5 cc and my friend's band was filled to 16 ccs! It's important to find good fill docs.

Aubrie,

The show is "Shall We Dance" and it is a wonderful romance and I wish we all could take ballroom dancing!! I think it is a wonderful idea to hit the pool..I wish I lived closer to one and could use it on a regular basis. I'd settle for a creek or river right now...too hot for me.

For those of you who hate excersie I have one word for you T-Tapp.

15 mins a day 1 full dress size in four weeks. check it out. google it.

LOVE IT! I do.

Same here. I have an 80 yr old dad with dementia, two dogs, two cats, three teenagers and one difficult DH. Who has time to exercise? That's probably why I have been stuck at this weight so long. I don't want to get a fill until after my vacation in August either. Come September I'm determined to get a fill and get moving down the scale.

You MAKE time to exercise. It's that simple. Children in 3rd world countries that work 16 - 18 hours out of every 24 don't have time to exercise. We do. You get up earlier, go to bed later, stop watching TV, don't clean the living room and have someone else do it or let it go once in a while, you use computer time, you stop watching TV, you go out to dinner or you have hubby clean the kitchen after a meal... you find the time. We have it, we just need to ALL stop making excuses not to exercise.
