GNC Total Lean

The GNC Total Lean shakes were recommended by my nutritionist and in case anyone uses them... They're on sale now- buy one get one 50% off (at least in NY!)

I wanted to experiment with some Protein before my 2 week pre-op to find one I like, and I've tried the chocolate and strawberry and so far, not too bad!

I had never tried them and was buying by the case to save money so I was too wimpy to try the orange. I don't know how I feel about orange-flavored beverages!

I'm actually really impressed at how full they kept me.

When you can eat solids again, the GNC Lean Bars are pretty decent, too. I like the banana, strawberry yogurt and blueberry yogurt. I hate the gummy gooey texture of most protein bars (including the infamous, beloved quest bars) but the GNC bars are textured like rice crispie treats.

@@Kindle thanks for the tip! I'm allergic to peanuts so I can't have most protein bars, but I will look into the ingredients :)

I don't see peanuts listed in the ingredients, but there's a big black warning on the package that says "contains soy, milk and peanuts". I think a lot of the quest bars contain almonds or walnuts, but not peanuts. They are a good source of protein and fiber...I'm just not a fan of the texture.
