Hi! I have yet to be banded, but being only 26 I definitly want to have babies within the next 3-5 years. Can anyone share their experience of getting pregnant after being banded? I know its possible, because the band is adjustable, I just wondered how it actually went for some of you. I searched all over the site but haven't found anything about those of you that had a baby afterwards. THANK!

I read a couple of studies about this-- one said that banders have fewer c sections and gain less weight than overweight people (presumable people whoe need the band), another said that banders didn't have anymore complication than regular weight non-banded people

I read studies about it too before being banded. We are looking at two or three years here (after I get done with grad school), but it was always a thought.

In contrast, another study O'Brien and colleagues presented at the obesity meeting found that pregnancy outcomes for women with stomach bands were comparable to normal-weight women, and better than for obese women without bands.
