Canadian Looking for answers

Hello Everyone.

I am having VSG surgery done is Tijuana in January and looking for some answers on aftercare. I have read numerous times that Doctors won't look after patients who have had surgeries in other countries. Is this true for Canadians, or is this just an American policy? I'm hoping there are no issues but obviously there is always a risk, just like any surgery.

My other question is, has anyone had their gallbladder out the same time as their VSG surgery? I have some issues with mine now so my surgeon is recommending I get it taken out while he is doing the VSG. I feel like I could have this taken care of in Canada but maybe I should just get it done to save the hassle?

Any information is appreciated!

I had my VSG done in Tijauna 3 weeks ago. My regular physician along with the company that I went through is doing after care. I have contact with the surgeon if needed, but haven't needed it. who did you go through. Oh and I'm in Canada.

I'm not going through any company in Canada. I have booked it myself with Dr. Ramos Kelly. I did look into Weight Loss Forever but after doing some research I didn't feel I needed to pay 16k to have them book it for me, when I could do it myself. I am not scheduled until January so maybe if I talk to my doctor she will help me with aftercare. Thanks for the info!
