wine pre op

Hello, I'm having two huge things occur within the next two days, my birthday and my 20 year class reunion... Question is may I have wine Saturday night? Getting sleeved on Monday!

This will probably annoy many of the "preachers" on here, but, I had a golf tournament the weekend before my surgery this past Monday. I drank a ton of beer on Thursday night and a modest amount on Friday along with not following the pre-op diet to a T. It was basically as I envisioned... There is the "perfect world" vision that the Shrink and Nut give you that say "Absolutely No alcohol", then there's what actually happens in the "real world." I did ask my doctor ahead of time and he was a little more in line with the "real world" stance.

I can't say whether it's okay to do or not, but I have a special night 3 days before surgery and am planning to have some wine and go off the pre-op diet a bit as well. I know 2 wrongs don't make a right but at least we know we're not the only ones!

I wouldn't overdo it but a moderate night should be fine.

Surgery on Monday for me, too. My only restriction is clear fluids after noon on Sunday and then nothing after midnight. I intend to eat something truly, offensively unhealthy for dinner Saturday night. It will be so unhealthy that it will cause nightmares in children, and women will sob openly at the sight of it. Then I will enjoy a fifth of bourbon, simply because I can.

Just kidding. I'll probably have some tacos and a few beers. I'm going to miss both of those terribly. :(
