Me too! I just try to rub not scratch. It's the healing process as I've had other surgeries and scars Always itch.

I try to use mederma around them but doesn't always work

Is it only the scars that itch, or are you itching all over? If just the actual incisions, it means you're healing, though not everyone itches. Try not to scratch!

If you're itching all over, it could be the liquid Lortab or codeine-containing pain killer (if ithat's what they gave you). Stop the meds and that itching should abate within 24 hrs.

Good luck. It gets better!

I remember having terrible itching around my incisions, too. I didn't scratch, but I just kind of ran my fingernail in a circle around the incisions (maybe about 1/4" away from the actual cut) and that seemed to help. Not too much pressure. The itching goes away after about a week or so.

Only the incisions are itching.
