I am one day post-op from a lap-band w. plication surgery -- and I had a cup of espresso this morning mixed with my Protein drink. It tasted great. That is one addiction I do not want to give up. Anyway, my doctor said it was okay, and I've had no complication (of course it's only been six hours!)... on the other hand, I didn't have the sleeve, so perhaps it's different. Good luck with the java fix!

My aunt was a huge coffee drinker before and after surgery. When her weight loss stalled her surgeon explained to her that the caffeine in coffee can actually stimulate hunger. Since she switched to decaf her weight loss resumed for the better. I'm not sure how accurate this was but I thought I'd share anyways in case some of you are experiencing this stall.

I use alone milk in my coffee as a creamer and it works great, lower calories.
