Actually all gastric sleeve requires a medical director to review it. Nurses and "regular" people aren't allowed to make decisions regarding medical necessity. Must be a doc Does that make sense?

I spoke with my Ob Gyn and he will give me the recommendation letter. I have an appt tomorrow. He wants to see me to see my pre op results and talk to me before he write it. Thanks so much for this idea, I hope it will work.

The letter should have detailed what was missing and likely it was that letter. Make sure office gets it ASAP and then sends a fax AND have then request a peer to peer

Jersrose43, thank you so much for all your advise. I greatly appreciate it. I will call office in a little ( they're still closed). I'll keep you updated .

That's great!! Thursday here we come!!! I super excited!!

@@Jersrose43 You mentioned that you work at cigna. I'm wondering what the difference would be that the decision would need a medical director review? TIA

Hello All..... I'm 3 days post-op. I'm so happy that did this but I have some issues . Drain on my left side bothers me so much, that it drives me crazy and also I have problems with liquids. I can only fit like 20oz of liquids . My stomach gurgles all the time I drink and also I feel pain when I swallow. I'm only able to get like 25g of protein out of 60g. Also I get this sharp pain In the middle in my chest.... Anyone had the same ?

It's early in the process. My doc told me early on he's be happy around 24 ounces of Water and you build slowly

Just sip sip sip.

You can also do Isopure drinks which have 40 grams of protein

Thanks a lot for your advice. I can only have like 3-4 oz at one time. Also I have those painfully cramps in my chest. It's driving me nuts.

Those isopure drinks...,., I tried and they're discusting. I can get those to go down

I'm on day 4 post-op I'm having problems with my protein intake I drink the Isopure because it's 40 grams of protein in a bottle....try freezing it like a Popsicle.....Or after every sip of Isopure, sip on water.

I walked for 5 mins today too. I'm feeling good....I shoved a box with my foot last night n that made my tummy hurt but I got some rest n I feel wayyyy better....just remember you're in a baby stage eat well in our case drink, sleep n sh*t(sorry for being crude). Stay hydrated....we got this!!
