When can I fly / Travel after surgery?

Hello All - I am new to this forum, I was just approved for the Sleeve Surgery but do not have my date yet. I do, however, have a vacation planned and I will need to fly from Orlando to Rhode Island the last week of July. Does anyone know, how long after surgery you should wait to Fly / Travel? Thanks.

Did you ask the surgeon? Mine said I was fine for my vacation to Belize 8 weeks after the bypass surgery. I don't think there are too many restrictions as those people who fly to Mexico end up flying within 2-3 days. But, worth asking your surgeon about since he/she knows you best.

You will need to ask your surgeon. My surgeon recommended no flying for 2 weeks. Every surgeon has their own protocol post op.

I was cleared to fly 1 week after my surgery (as soon as they removed the JP Drain port).

I am sure I'd have had some serious questions had I tried to go through security with it still in anyway.

I don't know that I'd have been physically ready to fly for much longer than 2 or 3 hours though until after at least 2 weeks out.
