Starting Over

Please take a look at my plans and provide feedback.

I have been banded for years and am having a hard time recommitting and losing weight. For the last month, I have been following a paleo diet with much success other that the fact I did not realize I needed to take in more fats. My son wants me to drink my Protein rather than eating it so to appease him I will try to switch to drinking 3- 4 powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shakes. Will supplement calories with bulletproof coffee and fat bombs (coconut oil, butter, cream cheese) and one big salad with oil/vinegar a day to get the veggies in as well as one green smoothie. The smoothie will probably exceed my targeted carb intake of 35gms/day, but since I swing kettelbells daily (300 swings) I think the extra carbs will be burned fast.

How does that sound? Please provide critiques to help me jumpstart my weight loss. I remember we were supposed to take in protein. Protein was big, but I can't remember any discussions about animal fats and/or healthy fish oil/krill fats.

Please help

Thanks

2muchfun I completed my profile as suggested. I really like the new layout. It's very nice. To answer your question regarding fat bombs. They are basically "deserts" or appetizers that are high in animal fats. I tend to consume coconut oil, grassfed butter and occasionally avocado oil.

You may read more here and if you do a quick search on Pinterst lots of recipes pop up with links to various websites.

lisacaron,

Yes! It seems I can finally see a plan formulating. I decided to tackle the exercise aspect first as I knew this would be the hardest for me. Fortunately, I have finally found a piece of equipment that meets my needs and I absolutely love, love, love. I have my bells in my living room and bedroom and swing them intermittently during the day. Regrettably, there is so much clutter on the web its hard for people to really learn how to swing a kettle bell properly.

Thanks all for the help. I think I overshot both my Protein intake and calorie intake. I will know if that is true in a month or so.

I could certainly use a whole lot of support getting back on the wagon. Not sure I can make it back up, it has been so long now. I need to - desperately....

Does anyone have any suggestion on getting rededicated? My biggest problem is and remains drinking while eating. I just can't seem to help myself.

I mean this in the most supportive way, you posted within a topic and we call that hi-jacking a thread/topic. Not a big deal except there are only 6 other people following this thread/topic. If you want hundreds of eyes to see your post, start a new topic? It's easy to do and you'll get a much better response than posting here.

To answer your question, I drink Water, beer or wine on occasion when I eat. New studies show that it's OK to drink and eat as long as you follow this rule: Don't drink for one minute after you've swallowed your last bite. Never use fluids to wash food down/through the stoma. If you're taking small bites, chewing your food to mush and eating slowly, the peristaltic motion of your esophagus massages the food through the band within one minute. If you eat too fast, the food will back up into your esophagus.

But, I find the band works it's magic much better if I don't drink at all. And I drink maybe 10% of the time. Mainly, if I'm at restaurant or I'm eating dry foods like leftovers.

I find it hard to understand how just drinking is your only indiscretion? Does your drinking include sugary drinks, or lots of alcohol or do you eat too much because you don't feel satiety since you're washing your food down?

Here's a video that may help you? This is just one video in a series of 4. If you can, watch all 4. But at least watch this one and your concern comes up around the 7 min mark.
