MAY 4th

I finally got my surgery booked... MAY 4th 8am wooooohoooooooooo

I am so excited I can't wait. I met some great women today in the waiting room at the TLBC. One was in the same boat as I am and the other three had already been banded. They both gave me so much information and they made me feel very comfortable (by the way they looked amazing). It was so nice to talk to people who understand what I'm going through and why this surgery is so important to me.

If those ladies ever read this... thank you for answering my silly questions and sharing your experience with me.

3 weeks to go.

  • Robgoblin, You lost 20 lbs in 6 days? That's amazing. I only lost 3 lbs in 3 days. I know it's very hard. That why I said it would have been more tolerable to have a variety. Yoda said she found

Hi Jurema. I wll be at the pre op on Aprl 23rd 6:00 p.m. Is that the one you are referring to. I have been banded, but missed the pre op so I will be going for the nutrition part. Doddie

It will be nice to but face to the name... can't wait to meet both of you. I'll be the chubby girl with glasses on LOL

Hi: I tried to put my picture with my signature. If it shows up, you "might" be able to pick me out of a crowd. LOL Doddie

Alrighty folks.....24 hours until pre-op diet 11 days till surgery....who is anxious, who is nervous?

I am anxious as hell....can't wait...wish i had the band in me already for 1 year....imagine what i would look like 1 year post op if i would've done this 1 year ago....oh well at least i'm doing it now.

Let's keep eachother updated on pre-op diet....how we feel, how hard it is...keeping us motivated...If you cheat write it down, that way you feel accountable! We are all in the same boat.

My surgery is May 2nd and I started my pre op a little early. I lost 14 lbs the first week and am now starting the 2nd. It is hard, but stick to it and the results are worthwhile.

Good luck

Susan

I had started on the 19 2 weeks they said cheated a little but i have lost 8 pounds in 4 days. I think the main thing is to lose some so you shrink your liver. I can hardly wait for my fourth i just want to get started.

That's great Brookelaney! I agree that the main reason is to shrink your liver which is important to successful surgery. The "side effect" of getting a jump start on weight loss is a bonus!

hi all

Today is my last day of people food!

I am going to enjoy myself for tomorrow I begin a regime of bacteria laced milk and their by products (Yogurt and Cottage cheese):heh:

It will be tough :faint: (since I will have daily access to some yummy food (pasta, sauces, Brocettes, chicken kiev, steak, stew, Clubs, Burritos, fries, various other potato dishes, vegy galore, pastry, sweets, :blah: )

SIGH!:decision:

Oh well, it is for the greater good... I will just enjoy what I can have, miss what I can't, eat slow, eat often and muddle my way through...

Viva the resistance!:)

ps. Olny 3 more sleeps to my sweetheart comes back :high5:

(don't tell the mrs!:pound: )

You'll do great Mr. Y - keep your eye on the prize! (Although I don't envy you having to wok with food all day - All I bought at the grocery this week was convenience foods for DH to throw in the microwave)

I'm not going for a last day binge or anything, but i will try to enjoy my last day...today is hopefully my highest weight EVER....never again.

My last day of people food is Wednesday (I have to be on pre-op diet for 1 week). It will be tough but since all before us have survived, I am guessing that we can do it.

For me the toughest part is probably to come up with some excuse for my family of why I can't eat their food (we visit almost every weekend). I may be able to skip a visit but skipping 4 weekends of visit or 4 weeks of rejecting their food would look very suspicious.
