Less than a week to go... emotions are everywhere

Recommended Posts

Less than a week to go... My feelings range from so ready to do this to Good Lord what am I doing. Granted i have not had surgery since i was 4 and i def dont remember what that was like i am more nervous about the anesthesia than i am the actual surgical procedure. Yesterday i went to the store and loaded up on Clear Liquids for my pre-op diet that started today, so far so good. The Protein Shakes really seem to help ease the hunger. Also very impressed that my pain cream (for my incisions) and scar cream made it to my house in less than 48 hours. Kind of nervous about the bowel prep though, since i have to drive 3 hours the night before my surgery to Dallas... that may be an interesting/long ride. At any rate i am excited to open this new journey. Yesterday i was telling my mom, i am only 25 and i have no idea of what it feels like to be comfortable in my own skin. I can't wait for that feeling!!!!

Hi Lindsay Welcome!!! It is a very exciting journey to be on, and as time goes on you will find it more and more every day. I never had to go through the bowel prep so I can't say what that's like... lol :) I'm sure it's for the better. Keep us posted on how everything is going for you!

When are you doing the bowel prep? Mine was 3 days before surgery..and it was a rough night but by morning I was fine. Good luck to you :)

Where are you traveling from? Just curious..I'm 3 hours from Dallas too, in East Tx

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
