Insurance Approval today

I began my WLS journey with my information session 11/22/13. After many appointments and much information, I thought I

could lose the weight on my own this one last time. I did lose 38 pounds--but I've gained 13 back. I've been exercising like

crazy, but bingeing in the evenings. Today, I got my Approval Letter from my insurance company and I couldn't be happier.

Now, I need to know what the average weight loss is on the 9 day liquid/protein shake diet preop?? I am at a BMI of 36.6 and if

I lose too much, I won't qualify for surgery. What is postop like? Really painful, or tolerable...I have a high pain threshold. Any help

answering questions would be appreciated!

Congrats on getting approval. Ask your doctor about losing now. I'm in a similar spot with a BMI of 35.9 but my doctor said it's ok to lose now that it's been approved. And he doesn't require a pre-op diets for "lightweights" at all. Just 1 day of Clear liquids the day before.

Best to check with your surgeon. And best wishes!
