Newbie Question

I was sleeved on Apr 17. When I drink, which is all I can do at the moment, if feels and sounds like there is a gas exchange happening or the water is replacing gas in my stomach. Is that what the bubbling and grumbling is and does this last?

  • Thank you Linda. I'm not stressing over it at all- I am 100% on board, but I was wondering if this was a common post op symptom.

We are all different so no one can tell you this. There can be bigger things to worry about so don't stress over little noises your stomach will make. Get used to them! Good luck!

Thank you Linda.

I'm not stressing over it at all- I am 100% on board, but I was wondering if this was a common post op symptom.

Many people have had this yes..it does go away. I used a heating pad on my belly until all the gas was gone.

That said...I still have moments where a liquid or bite of food replaces that and up comes a giant belch. I'm 6 months post op.

At 5 months post op we still get gurgling and crazy noises, and minor gas problems.
