I live in Austin, Texas and I am really concerned about my follow up visits. Does anyone have advise about how you followed up after surgery in. Mexico? I am particularly concerned about a doctor accepting my follow ups?

I would just call some local hospitals and just ask about follow-up appointments. Surgeon's in my area actually had high opinions of several surgeons in MX.

At 4 months out, I haven't needed any surgery-related followup visits. I have been in phone and email contact with Dr. So and Dr. Martinez from OCC to coordinate with my PCP's treatment plan for a non-surgical related infection. Both my PCP and OB/Gyn have been very supportive and offered to do whatever followup blood work is recommended. My OB/Gyn has actually recommended OCC to a few of her other patients.

Hi Brooklyn girl,

I had my surgery in Tijuana after I was denied by my insurance. My PCP was more than willing to do my blood work every three months that was recommended by my surgeon to have for my first year post-op. I was also given in Tijuana by

Dr. Quinones and surgical summary (in English) and all my hospital and medical records. What my PCP liked having was a video of my sleeve surgery.

Good luck,

Stacy

That's so cool that you got a video! I asked for one, but was told their equipment didn't have a built in recorder and they couldnt have someone in the OR videotaping the screen. They probably could if they REALLY wanted to, but, oh well...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
