It's finally done! I had my band out and sleeve done on Wednesday, April 9th. I'm still in the hospital now, but feeling good. My insurance pays for 2 days so my doc is taking advantage of that time. He wants to make sure I'm feeling good and can get fluids down. I should be leaving here soon. I'm just happy to be on my way towards my weight loss goal again. I'm ready to feel healthier mentally and physically. Go me!

Hopeful, did you have the clearance to start lifting weights? I wonder what caused the swelling?

I have heard that the weight loss for us can be slower, but I don't understand why. I have had my band unfilled for a couple weeks now, and can eat without any restriction - so it isn't just that my body is used to smaller quantities of food.

hello, I too am a revision from band to sleeve...we have to be more careful as it was a longer surgery...my weight loss is very slow...i had started weights at 6 weeks but got a lot of swelling.. first few weeks are tough but soon you will forget them.

so now i am being careful.i dare not ruin things by being careless...what is the hurry..i can wait few weeks...

all the best to you both.

My doc never have me the impression that weight loss would be slower for me because I had the band. Since starting my pre-op diet 2 weeks ago and being sleeved last week, I've already lost 20 lbs.

Hello..no I did not take clearance.for my doc for weights..i was reading these posts and many were doing weights... But I think we have scar tissue and other things..so stomach takes more time to heal..

I feel my weight loss is slow because...earlier with the band i was having a high Protein diet of 1000 cals.I was taking a shake daily....so my body is used to all these things...I have lost only in the liquid diet phase...now I have to try harder...I recently read that the body looses 10% of its weight easily..after that it takes time to adjust...

my doc also never told me...but i have reached that conclusion that my weight loss will be slow...

so I am being patient...all the best.
