@@mtibodo2 You definitely have to keep us updated!! Congratulations for being on the other side of things now. Any advice/tips/ANYTHING you can give us will be greatly appreciated!

Also - anyone who is a reader, I am reading "Skinny Jeans.....At Last!" Secrets to long term weight loss surgery success and it is pretty good!

I had surgery yesterday at about 2pm. I got home today at 2pm. I was started on full liquids before lunch at the hospital today. Best tomato soup ever! Just saying.

I was a little worried about the after surgery pain, but mostly I was worried about complications during surgery that would abort my bypass. So when my husband said the surgeon told him everything went fine, I was definitely relieved. I had a major migraine, probably triggered by the anesthesia. I was tapping the morphine button every few minutes just waiting for the beep that told me it was delivered (every twelve minutes according to my nurse). During this time I was drifting in and out of a drug induced sleep.

But by 8pm the migraine went away and I stopped pushing the button. After that I didn't have any morphine or any other pain medication at all (some are set to get a low dose and are allowed to increase with the button, but mine was set to only deliver if i pushed the button).

I had three, just three, incidents of nausea. I breathed in to the barf bag (is there a better word for that?) for a minute and it passed. Nothing since the last time, which was in the middle of the night last night.

Today, i walked a few times, and the last time I could feel a bit of pressure/pulling/pain in my abdomen, but it was minor. I had more pain from being in that bed, barely able to move for nearly 24 hours than I did from the surgery. Before I came home I felt a little gas pain in my shoulder.

But that was it. It's been a very good experience. The only exception was when the IV blew and had to be redone, my veins are tricky and it took 7 attempts to get the second IV in. My arms are covered in little bruises. But I always have troubles with getting IV's.

I feel good. I keep looking at the 5 little gauze pads on my stomach, pretty much the only evidence so far that I had surgery. I keep wondering... did I really get the bypass? I don't feel different. But I am not breaking my phase 2 diet to find out. lol

The pre-op diet is going much better than the first day. I'm not as cranky or hungry as I was on the first day. I have lost 3 pounds in two days. I have met my surgery day goal being at 300. I am pretty sure I will lose a little more. My 4 hour pre-op is tomorrow and I am afraid I am going to over sleep and miss it. That's pretty much the only thing I am nervous about, right now.

My pre-op got rescheduled to the 24th. My surgery is the 25th. The issue is I am supposed to do bowel prep on the 24th, but my appointment is not until 130. Guess I will drink the magnesium citrate after I get home. Hoping they don't reschedule everything.

I'm now 2 1/2 weeks post op. Feel pretty good. Still have pain in left side every now and then. I'm on soft foods and have found it harder to get in liquids with not drinking for 1hr after eating. I'm in a 7 day stall wt loss so far 13 lbs since surgery. Hopefully will get through soon. Trying to up water intake but can't seem to get there yet. Increased my exercise hoping that may get me past this. I know from everyone's post this is normal but still bothers me when I have someone asking me how much I've lost this week. (Husband ). Then he asked why I haven't lost more. He may get hit with something soon!

Nothing is going to be rescheduled. Called the doctor's office and I can do bowel prep after I see the doctor on Tuesday. So happy! 6 days left!!!!

Hey everyone,

I had surgery on Monday and I'm still in the hospital. I developed a bit of pneumonia and they are giving me heavy antibiotics. Sorry I've been mia,I had a bit of a rough postop.

Thank you!! I feel way better than I even felt yesterday.

More than half way through the month. It will fly by for those of you still waiting. I keep popping in from time to time to see how everyone is doing.

yesterday was my two weeks post op. I lost 22 lbs since surgery. Everyone is different and what they go through. but I had absolutely no pain at all even having the 3 surgeries in one day. also I cheated a few times the 2 weeks before. even one week before on Memorial Day I was out of control. So don't feel like if you fall that you can't get back up there.

I hope that's encouraging. I was really scared before i went in and I didn't need to be. Take a deep breath and know that you're almost there. :)
