  • I am three days out. Just had my first shake with no problems. I also have nO pain at all and I had 4 procedures done. I've talked to some people that didn't have any pain. It feels like I didn't do

I have UHC and didn't have to jump thru any major hoops or anything. I didn't have to do a 6 month diet. I tried syntrax shakes and they were disgusting. I am glad I just bought a sample pack and not a whole container. I usually get unflavored gnc pro performance or pure protein French vanilla from sam's. If they have a real strong protein taste and smell, I just can't take it.

Gnc has lean shakes. They are the best I've had. I did get injury chicken broth not bad but u can't make it real hot. And I like my food hot. Also I love ice hoping I can do ice after surgery.

Soon, ladies, soon!

My husband will be off work the day of and day after my surgery. I am scheduled to be in the hospital only one night. I am pretty sure I will be all right while he is at work, if not he works two miles from the house.

To drummergirl- I have to do a 2 wk liquid diet my dr wants me to lose at least 10lbs before surgery. I have a band right now they took all my fluid out Monday and its amazing what I can eat right now. I will start liquids exactly 2 wks before no sooner lol. I have my pre-op class on the 29th. When do you start liquids?

I'm going from lap band to bypass surgery. Does anyone have pain on their right side from where their port was located. Just curious. I'm waiting on insurance approval for an early June surgery date.

I'm pre-op GB, but have lap band currently.. My port is on my left side and I occasionally get these sharp shooting pains by my port area. Can't wait to get this stupid band out of me!

Good morning, I went to a support group last night and found that my surgeon does not require a pre op diet. As long as I keep my 15% off.

I'm getting excited. Less then three weeks now. I got my letter from the hospital yesterday with all my dates and times listed.

Last nights mtg was about what you wish you knew prior to surgery... Some points were... The pain in the left lower rib area is normal, feel free to call the Doctor anytime something concerns you,be prepared that you can not gulp water again,be prepared that your food choices will change post op due to taste buds, buy a bento box for going back to solid foods,

So many more things to think about too. Oh and they said to get a buddy. Have someone that you can call and say ,,,help I want to eat..... As they talk you down! I am hoping for this group to help me!

My protein shake I chose was "metRx" I got peanut butter flavor. It has 110 cal, 2 gm fat 1 sugar and 23 gmail of protein! I mix it in almond milk.

Sadly, they said don't drink your calories..ie alcohol ..lol but in time you cam again!

My port is also on the left and I get those same pains. Can't wait to get it out.

Did your insurance approve u fast. And any thing u had to do for it. I was lucky and didn't have to do anything for them. What protein shakes are u liking

Myoplex is good it has 42g of protein and ensure light is also good I think it has 24g. I've been sampling a lot of different kinds and vitamins also. I have a bariatric powder it's ok but gets a little gritty you mix it with water and the calcium doesn't dissolve so it gets nasty towards the end. A lady on here posted that she tried sea essentials liquid and it was really good, but I have not tried it yet. I can't find it in any of the stores so I may have to order online.

June 23!! I'm so excited.

Congrats on your date! My date is the 25th.
