Op 28th March

Well, I got my dates yesterday and my op is scheduled for the 28th, two weeks.

I am seeing the dieticien next week and my consultant next Friday and that's it. I'm starting to get a bit worried that it won't work, I won't cope, am I making the right decision blah blah blah but you know what I mean.

I was given a pre op to do about 4 weeks ago. I stuck to it pretty much but have had a couple of blow outs, the last being yesterday evening. I had two bottles of wine, beef wellington and later when the carb muchies hit, prawn cocktail sandwiches. I mean WTF is wrong with me?

So will be back on it tomorrow, its not to late is it? I will be back on the milk only and yogerts for the next two weeks. I have my mother in laws funeral on Monday and will be away for three days, I hope to goodness I will be able to stick to the pre diet.

Did you all have pre op jitters, did or do you worry that it still won't work and how you will cope?

That's great to hear, I hope you continue to do so well. I have been sick 3 times and 3 times it was after eating pork, it just does not agree with me. So far I haven't had a stall so lucky that way I guess lol

Just an update, eating normal food now, no problems at all and swallowing my Vitamin tabs fine.

I'm not feeling much of a restriction but wonder if its because I'm not eating too much for it to feel restrictive, what do you reckon.

I've been the same weight for 10 days and sometimes think I am eating too much but when I actually look at it, I'm not and no rubbish foods (not that I did much before).

I've spoken my dieticein and she says its perfectly normal, but I do wonder when its going to shift again. I guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones who's going to lose slowly.

I never felt restricted with food until I started on normal foods then I found I got full really quickly. I still struggle to eat a slice of toast with a poached egg for breakfast.

I haven't had a stall thankfully but I am not the quickest loser either, I lose an average of a kilo to kilo and a half a week. So its slow but steady.

Unfortunately I don't feel that restriction but I don't continue eating. I had that for breakfast too. I seem to feel very full about 5 mins after I eat and it can repeat for 30 mins.

I don't really want to get into the calorie counting or weighing of stuff. Do you think that because I'm back on normal foods, I'm not getting enough Protein in?

I'm worried about this stall but am off to France soon for a month and plan to get loads of walking in, so hopefully things will move a bit faster.

Glad you're doing well.

I refuse to calorie count or weigh out food either, its too much trouble and I simple can't live with that especially when there are days when my husband is having to do everything because my health is bad.

I get my protein in first, then a bit of veg and try to stay away from carbs except at breakfast where I have a slice of toast with an egg.

Is that working for you willow? Sounds sensible.

It definitely seems to be working, I am loosing weight in 7 weeks I lost 18kg so not the fastest loser but its steady which giving my limited mobility is good going.

Hey Willow, that's not bad at all is it? And without killing yourself! That's nearly three stone, and as you say, with limited mobility. Well done to you

Thanks Lucky.
