3 Weeks post op

I went and seen my doctor yesterday, for the first time since my surgery. It has now been 3 weeks and I am down 10 pounds. I was just wondering if this was about average? I am goign for my first fill in 2 weeks. I thought that was kind of soon, but I really have no idea?

Courtney, Congratulations on the great weight loss! Do you feel like you need a fill yet? If you're feeling satisfied after your meals and getting your full water intake in and losing weight, you don't need one yet. I waited 2 months. Teresa's been banded since 4/04 and still hasn't had a fill yet. Others have had a couple of fills in that amount of time. It's a very individualized thing. No two people (and drs.) are the same.

Hi Courtney... my first fill was originally scheduled for 6 weeks post-op but I didn't end up having it until 8 wks post-op due to problems I was having. I think it really depends on how restricted you are feeling. I was very restricted up until my 8th week post-op... then I was WIDE open... a cornish game hen could have slipped through whole at that point. Sounds like you are doing great with your weight-loss!

Darcy thats only funny because it's real close to the truth , right?

Courtney, My Doc. says if your losing 2 to 3 lbs. a week then good. Also if you 3 to 4 weeks with no weight loss it's time for a fill.

Hope this helps,
