Request surgery date before 3 month wait

So my Surgeon told me that my insurance is requesting 3 month wait to get nutritional classes and all testing done. Has anyone ever requested for the wait time to be shortened? I am asking because I have very high blood pressure and a lot of pain from herniated discs and neuropathy on right leg and I want to get the ball rollin cause I know the weight loss will help tremondously. My final class is April 15 with nutritionist :( I don't wanna sound rushed asking the surgeon because I know they wanna make sure I understand everything prior to surgery.

My insurance has a six month waiting period. I just had my surgery in January. Unless a surgery is deemed "life threatening and urgent" my insurance would not bypass the waiting period. Apparently gastric sleeve is not considered "urgent" with my insurance company. After it was over I appreciated the waiting time. It gave me time to get ready and semi-prepare myself. There were some things that I could not prepare myself for until I went through the surgery. Good luck with your surgery.

I agree that the waiting game is actually benefit. My insurance says the whole process takes 8-9 months from your first consultation to actual surgery date. Back when I started, that process seemed soooooo long!! but now im still about 3 months out (hoping for a June date) and Im thankful for the time to really prepare myself and read as much as possible.
