Endocrinologist

Was anyone required to see a Bariatric Endocrinologist before a surgery date could be set?

I am required to see one before I can get a surgery date and doesn't seem right, when I already see my own endocrinologist regularly.

I don't see many post of people having to do this, so I was just wondering.

I have not, nor have I heard of it, but you may have special needs that most of us don't. Is your insurance requiring it?

No not a requirement from my insurance, just the surgeon's request. I am a type 2 diabetic and have thyroid disorder.

i had a phone interview today and they scheduled my first clinic. she did tell me at that clinic they will schedule several other appointments one of them was a endocrinologist. i was surprised too
