Recovery set back

I had my op a week ago today. I was doing great with my recovery, eating well, moving about well and my pain was really starting to ease. Yesterday my pain came back massively, I feel like I've skipped back to day 3! I may have over done it I think as I was starting to potter about at home doing bits of house work and things. I find it very difficult to just sit still when I'm feeling ok. Well now I'm going to have to I'm in a lot of pain again. I'm not losing heart it's all part of the process I'll just go back to day three and start again. Hopefully that will help.

I can't wait to be thin ha ha :-D

i was getting pain if I sat in 1 place for too long...walk every hour are Doc's instructions.avoid bending too much.

all the best.take care.

I decided to do a spin class after three weeks. Walking was fine, elliptical was fine, spinning was too much. The next day my incision area was sore like it was the day after surgery. It took three weeks to get back to where it did not hurt. Moral of the story, take it really easy until you are completely healed. Walking is good, more than that and you start the healing process all over again.

Where's your pain? Could it be the gas moving around?

My gas didnt hit me till 5 days after surgery.

Thanks for posting. I'm day 11 post op and whammo!! Pain and soreness out of no where. I've been laying down most of the day because it hurts. I'm like you.. I don't sit still when I'm feeling good. Yesterday I had to drive four hours for my post op doc appointment so maybe that caused a little more pain too.

Hi I hope you start to feel better soon. I felt better today, I've called into work to see them and I'm just about to walk my dogs. I'll be taking it easy tonight and tomorrow. It's really strange how things just switch from one day to the next. The only surgery I've ever had before was on my hand so this is a totally new experience for me. I guess it's a learn as you go kind of thing for us. I hope it goes well for you. Keep in touch x x

hi Nicky,

travelling does cause pain. I too travelled for my 1st post op..10 hrs to and fro.and was in pain for quite some days.

So now i am postponing my visit as I am scared of getting pain again. All the best,
