Protein and calories

Ok this May sound stupid but I just want to check. Are you supposed to count the calories in your protein drink towards your total food calories or calorie intake for the day? Iso like I am not counting my protein drink calories right now and I'm wondering if this is wrong. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks

Julie

  • What!? I thought calories don't count if no one sees you eat them!? Well now I know where I messed up

  • All calories should be counted. No matter where they come from. Not all protein drinks are great choices so looking for one that has a better protein to calorie ratio is important.

  • Yes...calories are calories....good ones, bad ones....they all count.

I don't know if there's a wrong or a right, but I count my protein shake calories in my calories for the day.
