Wth???

What the ... hell?

So, I was in Vegas the last 3 days on business and was watching some TV in my room when a commercial comes on for a local weight loss surgery center.

The commercial ended with "If you're 40 pounds or more overweight, call now!"

They're doing surgery on people that are only 40 pounds overweight.. What the Hell?? :faint:

Wow! My surgeon would never have done it unless there were some other serious health factors involved.

That is crazy! 40 BMI or higher with my doc.. sheesh.. now everyone is gonna have the surgery and some that dont need it! Yikes.. hopefully "heroin sheik" doesn't come back in style.. I hated looking at those sick skinny models..

I dunno you guys. how many of us dieted to that close to goal? Would you have wanted surgery to avoid gaining all of the weight back?

I think the patient should have to prove some kind of history of weight issues, but I don't think it's a bad idea to give someone a lap band who's yoyo'd and happens to be on the downside.
