All I can tell you is to eat the Gas X strips almost non stop...my daughter is an EMT and fed them to me in the hospital. I never had the 1st pain of gas...

I had bad gas pains the first 5 days or so - about a week after, I still had that pain in my left shoulder, but it wasn't as bad as the beginning. Gas-X didn't help me much, but I did take them. The only thing that worked for me was walking, walking and more walking.

I'm almost 4 weeks post-op. I'd say my gas pain ended a few days after surgery, 3 or 4. My advice, WALK as much as possible. I walked in my house during recovery, around my DR table, LR table, up the stairs, down the stairs, a few times a day. It helped for sure!

I used one gas-x strip because I thought maybe I had gas but never had any more problems. I feel very lucky.
