taxes

If you paid for your surgery out of pocket how did you list it on your taxes???

Under medical expenses. Off the top of my head I think you can only deduct the amount over and above 7% of your AIG. So using round numbers - your AIG is 50K and your surgery is 10K. 7% of the 50K is 3500. So you can deduct as medical expense 6500. But of course please consult a tax professional.

Its 10% AGI I do mine on turbo tax and buy the audit defense. Thanks I was just curious on how some claimed it. Thank you.

Ditto...used to be 7.5% but they switched it to 10% for 2013 (f......ers). And don't forget your travel expenses....they are deductible, too. I'm counting airfare, mileage, hotels, and meds.
