I recieved an approval yesterday from blue cross blue shield for the gastric sleeve. I should be excited to cross this obstacle however with three days left to the new year and my doctor no longer accepting surgerys for this year, I'm nothing but nervous.

My policy changes Jan 1 when the new year starts.. I called bcbs and my new policy will still cover the surgery but I'm wondering if my approval will remain good going into the new year with the policy change?

Call your insurance and ask them how long the approval is good through. Mine was approved for a 6 month window from the date I was approved.

Thanks dear I called them 90 day window!! My surgery is scheduled for jan31

I dont know about bcbs but most insurance companies gives like a 6 month window from time of your approval
