Throat and Esophagus pain

I have bad throat and esophagus pain, could this be reflux or heartburn?? Its pretty painful and I have never had it before so i have no reference point.....any thoughts??

    I was wondering if the throat pain was a result of recent surgery and possibly the ET tube they put down during surgery, guess not ;)
