The formula for protein is you are supposed to have 1.2 grams of protein for every kilo (which is 2.2 lbs) but if you are in a weight loss phase of your life you should have roughly 60 grams of protein daily at a min. And getting that in isn't too hard if you start looking at how much protein is in what you eat. Things like skim milk has 1 gram of protein per oz, combine that we with a protein shake that has 20 grams of protein per scoop and with one drink you are almost to 1/2 your daily intake.

Also keep in mind your body can't process more than 30 grams of protein in 30 minutes if you eat more than that it is just flushed out of your system as waste products.

Has anyone here tried protein bars since being banded? I am a fan of bars as a quick solution to a meal replacement when pressed for time. Some have better ingredients than others and some are much higher in protein than others. I haven't been banded yet so I'm not sure if I will still be able to tolerate them or not. What do others think?
