When I went to my last nutritional class before the surgery, I panicked thinking "am I gonna be able to follow the different food phases post op." But I took it one day at a time and followed the post op rules to the t. I've had no complications at all & next week will be a year & I'm soooooo glad for my sleeve.. So I know you can do this.

Missybean I feel great about the pre-op so far. I had to stop diet coke cold turkey and I thought that would be really bad but it's not. Just a headache every now and then. I have been drinking diet soda since I was 12 years old--30 years! I am in Wyoming, near Jackson Hole, but from Montana. This is my second day of clear fluids and Protein Shakes and I feel pretty good. Where is your surgery? How is the pre-op?

Thank god you haven't had a difficult time with it. I'm happy for you. I only drink Water so it's been really easy for me. I've lost quite a bit of weight in the past, and ever since then I never drank soda or juice again. Occasionally I would have a coffee but nothing addicting so in that aspect I have been pretty lucky. Surprisingly it's actually going really well, besides only being able to mix the Protein Shake w water, it tastes so pasty like that but I use the good ol hold your breath trick an it does the job lol. I'm having mines at roger Williams hospital by dr Giovanni in Rhode Island. Each day I get more excited don't you? We are getting closer and closer to our new healthier much happier lives.

I'm getting sleeved on the 13th too! I'm really excited, but pre-op has been awful for me. What are your's like? Mine's two weeks, nothing but Clear liquids :/ ugh, I'm dizzy all the time, but I've lost 8 pounds in three days so I guess it's working!

What's two weeks of discomfort to a lifetime of health, though, right? I can't wait! :D

Yay! Another sleeve buddy! Lol you're so right honey, this is all worth it. We've got to keep our eye on the prize. I think we may all have similar diets. Clear liquid, 3 Protein Shakes, veggies, small meat, or a lean cuisine meal? Thats mine. I'm also gettin the headaches. Tonight I felt dizzy. 8 lbs in 3 days is wonderful!! I can't wait either

Woohoo!! Three of us now. My pre-op is all Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes. I called my doctor after I got too dizzy to even drive. He had me throw in a hard boiled egg or two and baked lean chicken. I'm still just trying to do my best to stick with the liquids but I have to be able to drive on occasion.

Haha, I think I would kill a man for a lean cuisine right now. This whole all liquids thing sucks! And drinking more Water might help with the headaches, or maybe tea?

LOL... Oh wow, you're both on liquids only?? That must be tough...I may try the boiled egg to lessen my calories. I want my liver to be as small as I can possibly get it lol. My liquids only are the 12th

Kyrie who is your doc? What state? I can't believe it's actually going to happen. Very excited! I have not weighed myself yet to see if I have lost because my last weight was on the docs fancy scale. Lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
