I am in the process of preparing for my sleeve. Part of my preop is a barium swallow. It revealed I have esophageal spasms. This is news to me as I have never had any symptoms if regurge. Has anyone else had this diagnosis and still qualify for the sleeve?

during preop testing I have also been diagnosed with gerd surgeon won't operate until I am 4-6 weeks on meds and then another endoscopy. Having it on Nov 4th and being very positive that it will have cleared up have scheduled surgery for the 7th. Keeping fingers crossed and Am eating nothing that is high in acid

I truly hope its a go for you. Please keep me updated. I was not having and am not having any GERD symptoms. Only the occasional indigestion. These spasms were an incidental finding on the barium swallow. Now I have to have a test that measures the strength of the lower muscle of the esophagus. I was wondering if anyone knew how often this occurs or if it prevents anyone from getting sleeved. Kinda anxious.....
