Skin Elasticity

This is for everyone, but especially those of you who have lost quite a bit (even on the band or some other way). How well did your skin 'bounce back'? Did you do anything to try to help it? I am trying to remember to put a high quality lotion on my problem areas, but I am concerned that even though us plicators lose slower than some other surgeries, my hope (that my skin would have time to recover) may not come true.

Hi Chow

when I lost 100 pounds with the band my skin bounced back pretty quickly. I've had 2 big babies since then so I'm not sure how my skin will react this time. I have been taking measurements monthly though and I've lost about 4 inches off my waist so far. I'm hoping with enough exercise I won't need a tummy tuck but we'll see. I will definitely need my arms done tho :(

I have lost about 34 lbs in 10 weeks. My skin seems to be doing ok.. but, this time around losing weight, it is coming off strangely.. literally from the top downwards.. my head, face, arms, shoulders and breast areas are significantly smaller, then you look at my midsection and lower extremities and you can obviously tell that i have not lost as much weight on those areas yet.. BUT, the thing about this bout of weight loss is now i feel like i have the "old lady" shape.. though im smaller now, i certainly remember a different body shape when i lost weight 10 years ago.. i can remember weighing 193 back in 2002 and my body looked different then..

go figure

I am afraid of that too. I seem to be losing weight differently this time around too. I am not unhappy with where I am losing it, it's just different from what I am used to and that makes me a bit nervous. I am losing in my stomach (which is my problem area) but not any in my butt, so now that is starting to look big compared to the places I am losing inches. I usually lose pretty evenly, with my stomach being the last spot. It's always something!
