Eee! First restaurant outing!

Recommended Posts

I am 6 weeks out and my boyfriend is taking me out to dinner to Celebrate a new job. We decided on sushi for dinner. Before I get chastised for anything, I know I can't have rice.

Really.

I know.

My favorite roll doesn't have rice or seaweed anyway. It's just tuna wrapped around shredded crab meat. One of my friends had her surgery 4 years out and said she started with eating the inside of spring rolls because it was soft and went down easy then graduated her self to small bites of teriyaki chicken or some grilled fish. Then slowly moved to rolls with rice.

I already do just fine with grilled fish. I love salmon. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Maybe a fish and veggie dish? Any sushi ideas?

I was thinking about this as well. Sushi is my absolute favorite food. I would go with a crab roll minus the rice. Let me know how it goes.

Sashimi is great to try or grilled salmon with no teriyaki sauce because of the sugar content. Also watch out for the soy sauce because of sodium content. Just remember to eat slowly especially of you try sashimi you don't know how you will react. Also they should have soy paper rolls no rice if you want to try a roll, those are a little more pricey but pretty good. Enjoy!

Ok so the restaurant we went to was a bust. I couldn't order a roll without the rice (some restaurants do that). Ok no big ill just look at the fish or chicken. ALL TERIYAKI!! Ugh. So I asked for it with no sauce. They couldn't do that. So I tried tuna sashimi thinking it would be like the tuna in the sushi rolls. Negative. It tasted fishy and gross. While we were eating three other people came in and asked if they could order sushi without the rice. Why wouldn't a restaurant evolve to accommodate special diets? That's three checks that walked out the door in an hour.

Anyway, I won't give up on sushi but I will be more picky about how my food is prepared.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
