Acid problem?

Hi all, I'm new here, I have been banded for 8 months and have been doing well until the last 3 weeks.

I had a piece of fried chicken (had not had any since being banded) and a little came back up. Since then I have been getting heartburn. I have never had a problem with heartburn before. It's not painful, just annoying. I am waking up in the middle of the night with it even though I have not eaten for probably 7 hours or more.

I did get stuck really badly early last week, I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital but I ended up PBing everything and was ok.

Has anyone experienced this? I was hoping to get another fill soon and am wondering if that is wise.I have a call into my Dr. I'm a little worried the band may have slipped. I still have restriction though.

Thanks!

ETA That I did talk to my Dr's office and they think I may have gotten irritated and to give it another week on bland foods and see how I am. If I'm not better they would want to unfill me a bit...which I really don't want....I would still love tohear from anyone who may have had a temporary irritation.

In the past when I have had a bad pb episode I have gone on liquids for up to 2 days and liquid maalox 3x a day for two weeks (as suggested by my doc) You sound very swollen - probably not a slip. Definitely call the doc for his/her advice and no way get a fill until you get this issue straightened out. take care, mary

Hi All, I've been suffering from reflux/heartburn/acid stomach terribly. Went to the health food store to get more Aloe Vera Juice & confided in the employee that I've been banded & been having stomach problems. Mentioned that I tried Ginger ale but that the carbonation bothered me. He said ginger ale doesn't have ANY ginger in it! Duh. Who would've guessed??!! So I got "GingerForce" tablets; it has 150 mg of ginger in each softgel. They helped!!
